Hello beautiful readers! You may be wondering where I’ve been…
In truth, I took some time off of social media to take care of my health. But as is usual, I have not been idle outside of the public eye.
My first book is officially complete. That’s right, it’s done! Far from being published, but a completed rewrite exists and is safe on my shelf for when I’m ready to come back to it. The greats will tell you to never publish your first work. Always shelve your first work and do something else before you publish. I never really saw myself as someone who would take that advice, but as I’ve stared into the mirror of self-reflection and watched myself improve as a writer, I realized that for me to bring my A-Game that was exactly what I should do.
Not only did I want to work on something else, I wanted it to be something I’d never done before. Something completely outside of my wheelhouse. A true test for my skills that I’d been honing for the last 15+ years. It was time for me to leave Feiradyr for now and work on something else.
They say comparison is the thief of joy, and in some instances that is certainly true, but comparison allows you to look outside of yourself and discover what other successful people do. I came to realize I didn’t have to stop at one world. I didn’t have to stop at one genre.
And so I started work on a completely unrelated post-apocalyptic zombie fiction story…
It gave me a new burst of creative fervor, and the rest is history. I’ve got a few chapters already as well as some in-depth lore, character profiles, setting, and a rough outline to loosely follow. Since I’ve dealt with my health and gotten a good chunk into my new project, I feel comfortable coming back to social media now and continuing my marketing journey.
To compliment that, I’ve started an Instagram for people who are completely over Facebook or who don’t always have time to read here. Give me a follow if you’d like and be entertained by my memes, answer my questions about writing preferences/other things, and get more personal updates on my writing.
Thank you to my new followers and subscribers I gained while I was away! You guys are rock stars and it still is odd to me that people might care what I have to say. Thank you for doing that and I look forward to seeing you on my other platforms as well. I love you all so much and I’ll be continuing to push out more projects as I’m able.
Happy reading!
